Why it will become more difficult to open a bank account in Kazakhstan from February 24
From 2024 in Kazakhstan, new rules for foreigners in obtaining IIN and a number of other important documents, such as residence permits, will become effective. From February 24, 2024 the registration of IIN by non-residents of Kazakhstan is possible only at personal application for identification of the person. The corresponding law of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 50-VIII was adopted on December 23, 2023 and comes into force in 60 days from the date of official publication. Until 2024, the IIN (analog of the Russian INN) could be issued in two ways: at the Central Office of the Population (Population Service Center) of Kazakhstan in person or through a proxy; at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Russia.
